ROSE CARE
Give Your Roses the Best Start
Our roses come straight from our farms in Ecuador to us. Before shipping, they undergo a special hydration process to prepare them for the journey. If they look a little wilted or thirsty upon arrival, don't worry—this is completely normal! Just follow these simple steps to help them bloom beautifully.
Step 1: Unpacking Your Roses
Wear gloves – Protect your hands from thorns and stains from tinted roses.
Remove roses from the box – Carefully remove the roses, cutting any straps if needed.
Keep the cardboard sleeve on – Leave it on for 4 to 8 hours while they hydrate.
Remove wrapping – Take off any plastic wrapping and rubber bands.
Step 2: Hydrating the Roses
Use clean containers – Use clean vases, buckets, or containers for your flowers.
Fill with water – Fill them with at least 4 inches of fresh, cool water.
Add flower food – If you have flower food, add it according to the instructions for extra nourishment.
Remove leaves – Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacteria from forming.
Trim stems – Trim about 1 inch (2.5 cm) off the stems at an angle, cutting under running water for best results.
Place in water – Immediately place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water.
Step 3: Let Them Drink
Give the roses at least 4 hours to hydrate properly. Some may take up to 12 hours to fully perk up. If any roses still look droopy after a few hours, trim the stems again and place them back in water to remove air bubbles.
Minimum hydration time needed: 4 hours
Maximum hydration time: 12 hours
Step 4: Keeping Your Roses Fresh
Cool location – Store roses in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Fresh water – Refresh the water every 24 to 48 hours, or whenever it looks cloudy.
Tinted roses – If your roses are tinted, the water may change color—just swap it out when needed.
Remove damaged petals – Remove any outer petals that appear brown or damaged—it’s normal for each rose to shed 5-10 guard petals.
Speed up blooming – Want them to open faster? Place them in a warm room.
Slow down blooming – Prefer to slow down blooming? Keep them in a cooler space.
Pro Tips for Long-Lasting Roses
✅ Water Quality Matters – Use filtered or low-chlorine water for better hydration.
🍎 Keep Away From Fruit – Keep roses away from ripe fruits—fruits release ethylene gas, which can make flowers wilt faster.
🌸 Quick Blooming Trick – Need to speed up blooming? Dip the stems in warm water for a few minutes.
🌹 Rescue Droopy Roses – Got a droopy rose? Wrap the stem in paper and let it hydrate longer to regain strength.
